The Youth Apparel Summer 2014 collection was inspired by mixing trends and styles from the east coast tot he west coast. “The Collection is based on effortless summer clothing with hints of pop culture reverences.” says Stephan who admits the design process was as effortless and natural as the pieces in this collection! “I had a very clear of what I wanted the collection to look like. I started with picking out from the numerous designs I created with the graphic designer and moved forward to sourcing and purchasing fabrics and finally the finishing touches. The designs are very minimalist keeping the collection fresh.” Stephan is incredibly talented and it is clear Youth Apparel is continuing to sore under his trendy taste and chic sense of design and style.
The collection is heavily based around minimalism and the idea that you don’t need to have a lot going on in an outfit to look great! In terms of styling, Stephan recommends letting the clothing in the collection do the talking. “Minimalism is key. This collection has very L.A & New York style basics for the summer that really can be paired with anything. The pieces are very unique yet simple so styling it with your favorite outfit wont be difficult.” Almost every piece in the collection is very versatile and can be worn with practically anything, perfect for the urban fashionista looking to upgrade her wardrobe for the summer season!

F&B Inc: Can you describe the vibe of the photoshoot?
Stephan Adams: The vibe of the shoot is extremely organic with high energy but a relaxed mind set.
With the makeup team touching up the models and both the cinematographer & photographer shooting the models as well. Being very inspired by music, we always have music playing while creating the lookbook.
F&B Inc: Do you have a favourite piece in the collection?
Stephan Adams: I do enjoy many pieces in this collection but my favourite would have to be the “YOUTH 00” flannel just because it really represents the summery west coast style and the urban east coast style.
F&B Inc: Youth Apparel has grown enormously since it first began, what are some of the changes that have occurred as your company has expanded?
Stephan Adams: The Youth Apparel team has expanded due to the growth of the company and we’ve
added many talented teens such as the graphic designer, Noah Kahansky, and the future creative director, Deven Pollock. With these additions we can look forward to many collaborations happening in the fall.
F&B Inc: What are your future goals for Youth moving forward?
Stephan Adams: Moving forward to the FW14/15 we may possibly collaborate with ILAND MODELS and still moving towards being an online store. I can also say that stay tuned for our fall collection launching this September.
Youth Apparel definitely has many exciting things coming up! Thank you Stephan Adams for the interview and good luck with your Summer 2014 collection.
