Pheobe Philo experimented with splashy colors and sweeping graffiti designs for Céline’s Spring/Summer 2014 RTW runway show which debuted at Paris Fashion Week on Sunday September 29th 2013. The collection had a truly urban, street-wear feel featuring mesh details, chunky paint splatters and sneakers. All the garments in the show were very French and very advant-garde which makes sense considering the designer’s inspiration sprung from Jazz Age photographer, Brassaï, and in particular the artists representation of Parisian street art. The collection had a strong, confident feeling which makes sense considering Pheobe Philo announced to interviewers backstage after the show “It’s about power and women” and that is an extremely stylish statement. Attention female fashionistas, Spring 2014 is about you having fashion power to make an edgy and urban statement in Céline!
