Chanel’s Spring 2017 Couture show at Paris Fashion Week was a glittering illumination of all things silver and sparkling. With a vision rooted in something impeccable and clean, Karl Lagerfeld told Vogue’s Sarah Mower “I wanted the girls to look like walking fashion drawings,” an image that came to life through an array of pale pink feathers, delicate lace and sequins galore. Set in an elegantly mirrored space reminiscent of Coco Chanel’s Art Deco atelier on the Rue Cambon, the environment of the show exuded nothing but simple sophistication and glamour. Silhouettes were tailored and belted dresses proved to be a trending accessory. Other noteworthy touches of whimsicality came in the form of pearled anklets and puffed sleeves. Beauty wise, models donned ethereal makeup looks with slicked back hair pinned up and parted to one side and nails painted pale pink. If you’re like me and you’re a fan of anything shimmery, pink or feathery this collection will have you swooning.
