Being a blogger isn’t glamorous 24/7 and there is a lot of hard work that goes into running a website. However, while responding to emails, editing photos, researching industry news (and sometimes even fighting off hackers) are all in a day’s work, on a good day attending private parties is also a part of the blogger job description! On Tuesday February 16th Toronto’s fashion industry elite and patrons of the National Ballet united for an exclusive preview of the brand new Sak’s Fifth Avenue located at 176 Yonge Street just outside the Toronto Eaton Centre.
The evening was pure luxury. Not only was the Sak’s store beautiful and new the decorum of the evening was magical and blissful. The store was incredibly decadent and all the guests were dressed to impress. Along with getting the firs look at all of the amazing clothing and accessories on display (read: obsessing over Canada’s first-ever Celine boutique) there were also chic cocktails and delicate treats being served to all. Edible highlights of the evening included a savoury scalp served on a thin slice of a melon and sugary fire and ice marshmallows available in the most luxe tropical flavours!
The event was held in the honour of Saks Fifth Avenue and HBC Foundation generously donating $150,000 to The National Ballet of Canada as part of Saks’ launch in Canada. In total, over 1,500 guests were given an exclusive glimpse into the life of a dancer, observing company class featuring dancers from the National Ballet’s RBC Apprentice Programme. A multi-level video, costume and pointe shoe installation were also on display. Talk about glamour!
“The generosity of the HBC Foundation and the graciousness of Saks Fifth Avenue are a demonstration of their commitment to the arts community and mark the beginnings of our partnership with Saks,” says the National Ballet’s Executive Director, Barry Hughson.
AN EVENING CELEBRATING HIGH FASHION & BALLET
(Two of my favourite things!)
All in all the new store is exceptionally beautiful. Saks is the height of luxury fashion in Toronto.
OUTFITS OF THE EVENING
I attended the event with my darling friend, Bronwyn Marshall of StyleCircle.org! We agreed the evening was truly fabulous in every way.
