FINDING A STYLE ICON: YOUR GUIDE TO CULTIVATING PERSONAL STYLE

If you’re looking to develop your personal sense of style having a clear vision of how you want to dress is essential. Cultivating your own aesthetic takes time and often is something that is shaped over years of life experiences, however if you’re looking to sharpen up your clothing collection there is one short cut I recommend: choosing a style icon. A style icon could be anyone from a fashion industry it girl such as a model or designer to a quirky character from your favourite book, movie or TV show. Personally, I have a few different style icons and I believe my sense of style is an amalgamation of my multiple muses. Marie Antoinette, Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, Carrie Bradshaw, Blair Waldorf, Serena Van Der Woodsen, Anna Dello Russo (and my list could continue!) Each of these leading ladies has a distinct flair for a feminine, sophisticated and dainty dress code while simultaneously managing keep their #GirlBoss title. Bottom line? Pick a style icon whose look you adore and whose confidence can inspire you to exude all the power, confidence and creativity you need to feel amazing in your clothes!

An outfit that recently made me feel my best was this chic and polished little number consisting of my favourite classic pieces and fun new accessories. I have an obsession with pretty pale pinks and nudes and centred this ensemble around my favourite new pair of patent bow tie heels (they are completely Valentino inspired, which I love!) With glimmering jewelry, a vintage blazer and a cute skirt and top this outfit simply feels like style icon summer perfection.

What I’m Wearing: Light Pink Tank Top (Zara) | Blazer (Vintage) | Mini Skirt (Top Shop) | Nude Patent Bow Tie Heels (Pink Basis) | Rose Gold Watch (Caravelle New York) | Golden Flower Bracelet (Betsey Johnson)
