You made your goals for a reason, and nothings going to change if you don’t work for it! You are what you do, not what you say you do, so get up and do those jumping jacks! Read on for the best, no fail tips and tricks to stay on course during your journey to a fit and healthy you.
1. Start Small
Rome wasn’t built in a day, and your dream body won’t be either. It takes a while before you see improvements on your body, but the trick is to stay dedicated. Fitness should be attainable, and achievable. Aim to workout 4-5 times a week, for at least half an hour. It sounds like a long time, but you can start small! Start by doing little amounts of reps (10) and everyday add a few more. Use lighter weights at first, and gain your strength before you try out the 10lbs or 20lbs. You can start by doing a quick 5 min cardio blast– nothing needs to take the whole day! Just do a little something everyday and your body will thank you for it.
2. Get Inspired
Search Tumblr, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram to find the people who inspire you! Seeing their motivational words, progress, and workout recommendations will be sure to keep you going! Some amazing fitness gurus on Instagram include: @pamela_rf, @alexandrabring, @michelle_lewin_, and @jenselter. All these ladies will keep your motivated and inspired!
3. Try Different Ways of Working Out
Running and lifting weights isn’t the only way to get your ideal body! Keep it interesting by trying out different activities. Ballet and any other type of dance, yoga, karate, soccer, kick boxing and many more fun ways to get your heart rate up are waiting for you! Try them all until you find your favorite!
4. Do It With a Friend
Get all your closest gal pals in on the fitness goal! Working out with them will give you no excuse to procrastinate or put it off. Also, it will get your competitive juices flowing and will keep you on your toes to work hard, and not give up.
5. Have a Bigger Picture
Have a long term goal to keep you going. Whether it be the perfect summer body, or training for a marathon, or building strength to make a school sports team, or even just working hard for a healthier heart and sharper mind…. it is important to have long term fitness goals that mean giving up is not an option.
Hope these tips help! Share them with your friends!
