Suzanne Rogers Presents Zac Posen: Backstage Hair Style With Moroccanoil

May 7, 2014

Last week Zac Posen presented his first ever fashion show in Canada (fingers crossed he comes back soon) for the annual Suzanne Rogers Presents charity fashion show gala! The fashion show was definitely a smash-hit and the event oozed glamour and grace. Of course the runway show wouldn’t have been complete without some fabulous hairstyles and hence Moroccanoil stepped in to transform the models in the show! Legendary hair stylist Antonio Corral Calero for Moroccanoil worked his design magic on the models creating effortlessly elegant curls perfect for a Zac Posen runway show!

The look was inspired by the alluring beauty of the 1940’s American film star, Veronica Lake and hence soft, sexy waves were the name of the game. The hair look was very Old Hollywood, yet with a fresh contemporary twist “this look was the true depiction of timeless feminine elegance.” said Calero. The vibe backstage has Calero was styling hair was definitely high pressure, with a full show of models to style (and only 20 minuets for each girl) it was safe to say backstage was a buzz!

How the Look Was Created:

Dying to know how Antonio created this stunning hairstyle for the show? We will let the expert, Antonio, do the talking…
“I started by prepping dry hair with Moroccanoil Light throughout the mid-lengths of hair
followed by Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to keep hair hydrated and improve
“I saturated the hair with Moroccanoil Root Boost, from roots to ends.”
Next, I blow-dried the hair using my fingertips to lift pieces and create volume.”
“I then created a deep left side part using the arch of the eyebrow as a guideline to
determine the depth of the part.”
“Using a 1 ¼ inch curling iron, I set all strands of the hair (on the base of the iron), taking
horizontal sections.”
“Then, spraying each section with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong I curled pieces
toward the face, and pinned in place to cool, “brick-laying the sections at the back of
the head.”
“I brushed out the curls to create a softer look using the Moroccanoil Boar Bristle Classic
Brush moving behind the ears and forming a more defined wave on the heavier side of
the hair part.”
“I finished with a spray of Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong to keep strands in
In case that sounded a teeny bit complex for busy girls looking to emulate this look on the go, Antonio recommended hot rollers and a whole lot of Moroccanoil hairspray to hold the runway inspired look all day long. Backstage Antonio also gushed about Moroccanoil products being the best of the best (“there is nothing better in terms of quality”) and F&B Inc couldn’t agree more! Moroccanoil hair products truly are a treat for the tresses.
Overall, the hair for the Zac Posen runway show was absolutely stunning! While with was Antonio’s first time working with Posen, he smiled and revealed hopefully many more collaborations between the two are coming. Zac Posen and Moroccanoil are clearly a winning combination!
