Paris Fashion Week Runway Review: Rami Al Ali Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014

January 22, 2014
There is no place in the entire world more magical than Paris! Anyone who has ever been to Paris knows how beautiful and breathtaking the French city is. It is almost impossible to imagine Paris any more perfect…except perhaps during fashion week! The world’s biggest designers and best guests pack into the city of lights and love for a few days to get a glimpse of the season’s most prestigious designs of the entire year. F&B Inc was lucky enough to be invited to several Paris Fashion Week shows, but was unfortunately unable to attend this season. Nevertheless, runway reviews from all the shows (and more) F&B Inc was invited to will definitely be going live! One show F&B Inc was excited to learn more about this season? Rami Al Ali….

Rami Al Ali is a Syrian-born couturier who has hosted his Couture collection of his namesake label in Paris for the past five seasons. On January 20th 2014 the designer debuted his latest work to an exclusive audience of the fashion industry’s most elite. Ram Al Ali’s intimately chic presentation featured all of his beautiful gowns inspired by Shakespeare’s tragic heroine Ophelia. Rami Al Ali wanted to draw upon Ophelia’s legacy by merging both her strength and fragility hence the gowns in this collection have a delicate feeling and are distinctly elegant and ethereal.

The collection had a very natural aura with floral prints and flora and fauna detailing dominating designs. Loose fabrics and airy silhouettes proved to be a new direction for the couturier who also experimented with modern techniques this season implemented to pay homage to the early 20th century fashion. Overall, this collection was truly divine as Rami Al Ali has indefinitely mastered the art of fine fashion and what it is to celebrate dainty beauty through art and design.
