18-year-old California girl Tatiana Touch may sound like your typical teen girl (she starts her days with fruit smoothies, never misses an episode of Family Guy, runs errands and is addicted to bubble tea), but what makes this talented young fashionista different from other girls her age is the fact that she runs her own fashion blog! Tatiana initially started her blog, Tatiana and the Deathly Fashion
, in 2009 “I had just discovered Fashion Toast by Rumi Neely and I was inspired on the spot. So I just made a blog.” however she didn’t start posting until 2011. Today Tatiana’s blog is incredible and filled with quirky and creative photos and posts “I call my blog my ‘Kingdom of Obsession’ because it’s a place I feel most comfortable exposing all the things I love and like it or not, I still will” says Tatiana.
When it comes to blogging Tatiana is inspired by an array of magazines and blogs. “My favorite site to go on is Fashion Gone Rogue because they basically post up all editorials ever made.” says Tatiana who is an inspiring editorial stylist. Of course Tatiana is also obsessed with fashion magazines and can’t get enough of Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and W, “a lot actually influences my blog, which also means it influences me to” says Tatiana who hopes to inspire girls to take fashion risks with her blog.
Tatiana’s blog has led her to some amazing opportunities and it has also allowed her to make some wonderful friends. “Even though The Deathly Fashion is still in it’s early years I have gotten a grip on my passion in life.” says Tatiana “I got to be hosts for Style Club at the Naven Spring 2013 fashion show with an amazing blogger named Kelsey Nguyen of Runaway in LA. We both later got called back to be tastemakers for their website, which was by far the best experience I’ve had!” Tatiana has big dreams of becoming the next Lori Goldstein and knows her blog is a stepping stone in achieving her future goals.
If you want to start a blog Tatiana says its really important to know who you are as a person and understand your goals. “Even though you won’t see drastic changes right away, keep working for it if you really want it. Be organized and friendly and put your self out there! And the number one thing is to always be confident.” Tatiana also encourages aspiring bloggers to keep committed and recognize that starting a site can be time consuming so good time management skills are key.
Overall, Tatiana Touch is an awesome blogger and definitely one to watch in the fashion industry! Her blog is absolutely amazing and it is clear this young girl is going places. Want to learn more about Ms. Touch and all her fashion favorites? Keep reading for her exclusive interview with F&B Inc….
F&B Inc: How would you describe your personal style?
Tatiana Touch: As weird as it sounds my personal style is very personal. (*Queue the awkward silence*) But it really is. My style depends on my mood and what I’m most inspired by at the moment. I am not afraid to take risks or try something new when it comes to fashion, which is why I love it so much (I’m definitely a pattern mixer if you’re wondering). You can call me a chameleon, really.
F&B Inc: Who are your favorite designers and models?
Tatiana Touch: Hands down I love Kate and Laura Mulleavy from Rodarte. They bring so many interesting things to the table every season and I enjoy their artistic stand point. I also love Prabal Gurung, Pierpaolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri of Valentino, Jason Wu, Alexander McQueen, Zuhair Murad, and Miuccia Prada.
F&B Inc: When it comes to models…who do you follow?
Tatiana Touch: Frida Gustavsson is my number one favorite. Xiao Wen Ju and Lindsey Wixson are up there too.
F&B Inc: Where do you want your blog to be by the end of the year?
Tatiana Touch: Hopefully a lot more of a consistency in posts – that is what I’m really trying to figure out right now. I think when I got that under control I will definitely hope to gain more connections with other bloggers and maybe even companies. Who knows? I think that’s the best part about blogging.
