WMCFW Runway Review: JNBY Spring/Summer 2014

October 27, 2013
Chinese fashion label JNBY made its Canadian debut Tuesday October 22nd at World MasterCard Fashion Week and was very well retrieved. JNBY began in 1994 and currently boasts more than 700 stores in Europe and Asia and is now making waves in North America. The Spring/Summer 2014 collection was contemporary with a disheveled-chic vibe. Crinkled black, white, beige and green fabrics ruled the runway and loose silhouettes set the tone for the show.

The collection had a sophisticated yet casual essence to it. All the garments in the collection were simplistic and explored the juxtaposition of rough and soft textures through the use of silky and gritty fabrics. JNBY is receiving excellent reviews and has been said to rival J.Crew and H&M. Could this Asian line be to Toronto what Uniqlo is to New York City? Only time will tell, but if the line continues to dish out fashions as chic as their Spring/Summer 2014 collection,  it’s safe to say JNBY is about to be Canada’s next big thing!
