Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2014 RTW Runway Show at Paris Fashion Week was incredible and the collection was fierce and fashion-forward in every way (F&B Inc wouldn’t expect anything less from McQueen’s Artistic Director Sarah Burton!) The collection wasn’t tied to any fixed inspiration making the clothing a fantastical amalgamation of everything from gladiatorial breastplates and helmets to tribal prints and patterns. The collection was strong and confident consisting of a powerful color scheme made up of bright whites, deep blues, blood reds and midnight blacks. The collection wasn’t loaded to the brim with frills and baubles (the simplicity was definitely what drove it to such a domineering level) “I didn’t want to do ‘big’ gowns,” said Burton “I wanted energy without froth.” This collection was extremely energetic, simplistic, powerful and truly alluring in every way possible.
