Paris Fashion Week Runway Review: Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2014 RTW

September 30, 2013

Issey Miyake’s Spring/Summer 2014 RTW collection debuted at Paris Fashion Week and proved to be a stylish collection revolving around sport and sophistication. Silhouettes in the collection were loose and billowy. Issey Miyake was inspired by light in all forms: starlight, moonlight, sunlight, nightlight, daylight. The white and grey garments were reminiscent of the simple glow of the moon at night, but the vibrant, multi colored frocks had a very different feel. It was almost as though Miyake had been playing with a glass prism, a rainbow beamed through the glass just as the light hit the corner and the array of whimsical light simply flashed onto white frocks and Miyake’s collection was complete. The artistic unity of the designs held the runway show together and truly captured the beauty and simplicity of modern fashions.
