Bloomingdale’s is an upscale NYC department store known as the high-end sister store to Macy’s. Bloomingdale’s all began in the Manhattan in the Lower East Side after two brothers, Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale, started selling hoop skirts in their notions shop. In 1872 the entrepreneurial brothers opened their first store located on 938 3rd Avenue. The business quickly grew larger and larger and fast forward to the 21st century and Bloomingdale’s is now a refined department store known for elegance and glamor. Founded my milliner Henri Bendel this high-end specialty retail store is steeped in exquisite tradition. It is practically impossible to find a garment in this store less than perfect.
