It’s no secret the Met Gala
is fashion’s biggest night of the year and this past Monday brought a bevy of edgy ensembles to the red carpet to celebrate the Costume Institute’s hot new exhibit: “Punk: Chaos To Couture”. While the designer dresses donned by the celebs and fashion icons in attendance made major statements the beauty side of things did not let down either. From dark and rebellious makeup to cool coifs, there was no shortage of rocking beauty looks. Who got the most buzz for her sleek, chic and perfectly punked up hair style? Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha, of course! The brunette beauty stunned in slick pony tail that was the perfect compliment to her one-of-a-kind Emanuel Ungaro by Fausto Puglisi gem encrusted leopard dress! Coco’s hairstyle was created with Moroccanoil products and designed by stylist Veronica Chu. Learn how to create this cool look at home for your next Spring soiree with tips from Veronica bellow…
The reason Coco’s hair works so well with her dress is because it is simple and uncomplicated, unlike her extravagant gown! Veronica Chu kept this top of mind when creating Coco’s style. What are the hair style secrets to doing your hair in this rocker chic style? F&B Inc will let Veronica Chu do the talking…
“I washed the hair with Moroccanoil Moisture Repair Shampoo & Conditioner, and then prepped it
with Moroccanoil Treatment to add shine and smoothness.” says Veronica
“Next, I applied one pump of Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse, combing it through with my fingers, and then lightly misted the hair with Moroccanoil Heat Styling Protection.” (F&B Inc tip: always, always, always use heat protecting spray to avoid dead, split ends that wreck your locks for life!)
“Using a Moroccanoil Round Brush, I blow dried the hair making sure the ends were especially smooth and straight.” continues Veronica.
“Next I sectioned and flat ironed the hair for a super sleek look. For the fringe, I sectioned off the first 1/3 of the crown and cut the hair into a deep “V” ensuring the tip was in line with her nose.”
“Next, I applied one pump of Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to help smooth the hair as I pulled it back. I then bent the hair into a low French twist.”
“I secured the hair with bobby pins inside the twist, and let it naturally fall into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck.” says Veronica.
“I misted the hair with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium for a flexible hold. To tie the look together, I added firefly gems just above the ponytail twist and then misted the hair again, this time with Moroccanoil Hairspray Strong to secure the hair.”
“To finish the look, I used Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray to give the style a wet, shiny, punk rock
texture.” …and voila you’re done!
This rocking Met Gala look is truly fantastic and definitely something worth trying at home! Leave a comment bellow to let F&B Inc know your thoughts.
