Support Breast Cancer & Raise Awareness At YSC In Living Pink Gala

March 27, 2013

Paint the town pink! Friday May17th 2013 is going to be a big night in New York City as it is the night of the 12th annual Young Survivor Coalition In Living Pink Gala. The gala is designed to raise funds to support, educate and empower young women with breast cancer. Young Survival Coalition is the premier global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. Using in informative interactive website, education resources and programs, YSC’s goal is that young women feel supported, empowered and hopeful and most importantly, are not left to face breast cancer alone. Stacy lost a friend to the disease several years ago, so she understands the importance of raising breast cancer awareness to young women, and her peers.

This year the event is bound to have a fashion-forward twist as F&B Inc’s friend Stacy Igel, aka the designer behind Boy Meets Girl USA, is on the committee for the gala. The organization is near and dear to Igel’s heart as Boy Meets Girl co-chair (2008-2009) Kristen Martinez passed away due to breast cancer. Igel recounts her close friendship with Martinez in a recent blog post on Behind The Seams here. In the emotional write-up the designer tells readers about her friendship with Kristen Martinez we met at my first volunteer meeting for the YSC. I will never forget that moment or that day. When she told me she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 31 I was shocked and at that moment I knew I had to help 150% and became a co-chair that year. Kristen was full of love and courage and taught me that you must move on and enjoy every moment life has to offer.

In the blog post Stacy Igel encourages readers to inspire change by attending the In Living Pink Gala and F&B Inc also believes you should be at the event! Early bird tickets are on sale now for $170.00 (regularly $195.00) The event is definitely worth attending and will be something you will never ever forget.
Stay tuned on F&B Inc for more information on this inspiring gala and be sure to tweet about the event and promote it on Facebook to help raise awareness for breast cancer.
