New York Fashion Week Runway Review: Proenza Schouler Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW

February 14, 2013
Proenza Schouler’s Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW collection was amazing and their runway show has the entire fashion industry buzzing.  The truth is people love Proenza Shouler and not just because it is a line that consistently delivers amazing clothing season after season, but because the line represents dreams coming true and the notion that hard work really does pay off. Proenza Schouler was started in 2002 by New York City based designers Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCallough. The design duo originally corssed paths while they were students at Parsons School of Design and instantly began working together on their thesis collection. That first thesis collection became the pair’s debut collection for Proenza Schouler which was bought by Barneys New York. Every. Single. Piece. Since the line took off with a massive bang in 2002 it has rocketed to greater heights and the line’s Fall/ Winter 2013 collection was no exception.

The collection had a simplistic and effortlessly elegant vibe. Loose silhouettes and refined black and white shifts dominated the jam-packed runway room. Grey, black and white were the key colors in the collection. Models donned a basic beauty look consisting of flowing hair and pretty nude makeup done by MAC cosmetics. Overall, the collection was truly gorgeous and featured pieces that will be considered timelesly beautiful for many seasons to come.
