New York Fashion Week Runway Review: Prabal Gurung Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW

February 9, 2013

Prabal Gurung first started showing collections at New York Fashion Week back in February 2009 as a nervous new-comer with big ideas and even bigger dreams. Flash forward five years later to 2013 and Prabal Gurung is not only a household name, but also a favorite designer of of the world’s biggest stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Oprah Winfrey, Michelle Obama and Kate Middleton. Prabal Gurung showed his most recent Fall/ Winter 2013 collection at New York Fashion Week and it was decadently trendy, edgy and rebellious hit!

The collection was very edgy and fierce with leather straps, holsters and buckles embellishing many of the runway looks. The color scheme of the collection ranged from deep black, army green and navy to crisp white and crimson red. The models on the runway sported natural makeup looks comprised of matte lips and nude eye makeup. Each model’s hair was pulled back into a sophisticated up do’.
Each garment in the collection was dramatic and eye catching. From the cut-outs in the gorgeous evening gowns to the fur accessories in the trenchcoats every inch of this collection was fabulous. It was evident that Gurung put a lot of passion and hard work into his clothing as all the looks were gorgeous in their own way.
