New York Fashion Week Runway Review: Monique Lhuillier Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW

February 10, 2013
Monique Lhuillier’s Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW collection debuted at New York Fashion Week less than an hour ago and has had the twitterverse buzzing ever since! The collection featured an array of ethereal and sophisticated looks perfect for fashionistas looking to make a statement this Fall.

The vibe of the runway show was revealed before a single model began strutting down the runway due to the swirly sea green backdrop. Jewel tones and elements of glitter were clearly inspirations to the designer who featured a variety of rub red, emerald green, dark maroon, black and pale white. Fringes and fur trims added a hint of luxury and elegance to more simplistic garments while sparkley sequined fabric provided a glamorous touch to the gowns. Lace and brocade embroidery was also a popular design feature found throughout the collection.
Models wore dramatic makeup comprised of dark eyeshadow and sweeping winged eyeliner, nude lips. Each model’s hair was slicked back and gathered into a modest bun at the nape of the neck.
