New York Fashion Week Runway Review: Diane von Fürstenberg Fall/ Winter 2013 RTW

February 10, 2013

Belgian-American fashion designer Diane von Fürstenberg literally just debuted her Fall/ Winter 2013 collection (the show was scheduled for 4:00pm Sunday February 10th 2013 in New York City) and it was a massive hit. It’s safe to say this was one of the most hotly anticipated shows of NYFW and it’s not hard to see why- Diane von Fürstenberg is an amazing artist. The collection had a chic yet casual vibe with a wide range of draped dresses and flowy skirts.

Diane von Fürstenberg’s Fall/ Winter 2013 collection featured loose silhouettes, crazy patterned fabrics and bold bright colors! It was exciting to see the hot pink and bright red color trend carry through to DVF’s collection (pink has been hot on the Juicy Couture and Kate Spade runways thus far!). The collection also had some edgy pieces including gold and purple metallic pants and extravagant fur trimmed coats. Other standout pieces included a plunging v-necked sapphire blue floor length gown and sleeveless crimson frock in a similar style. Overall, the collection had a classic Diane von Fürstenberg vibe with a casual-cool twist. It’s safe to say this runway show will be making news for a while (after all, DVF herself stopped to hug front-row staple, Anna Wintour, as the designer emerged for the final catwalk before disappearing behind stage!)
